FITNESS PILATES

Once called “the best kept secret of the chic, rich, famous and beautiful,” Pilates is now a household name. Each exercise is designed to make the maximum use of your time by targeting the deep postural muscles of the body, building strength from the inside out and re-balancing your muscles.

Fitness Pilates is more of a functional approach to the traditional Pilates class. It still applies the main principles of Pilates such as Breathing, Centering, Concentration, Balance and Control. But it also involves more functional movement for everyday life. The Pilates technique focuses on strengthening the centre by relearning the mind and body to recruit core muscles. Fitness Pilates will improve overall body strength with the main emphasis on your back and core muscles. It will also help to improve posture, mobility, joint problems and tone your body.

We don’t spend our life lying on the floor so Fitness Pilates classes consists of a warm up, standing exercises and floor exercises which are all designed with fitness in mind. Pilates classes often finish with a lovely relaxation section at the end to really help you unwind and relax.
